Thank you Buckingham County!
On Saturday, October 18, 2008, Friends of the Buckingham Recreation Department sponsored a 10K Walk/Run at the Buckingham Middle School to help CVCHC raise funds to help local residents fight Breat Cancer. The registration fee for the race benefited the Gene Dixon Park Expansion Fund but all pledges went to CVCHC to help fight breast cancer. CVCHC uses funds to assist local residents of the Buckingham County area through prevention, detection, and assisting with specialist care and follow-up. The center does have a mammography center on site so residents do not have to travel to Charlottesville, Richmond or Farmville to receive routine and diagnostic mammograms.
It was a beautiful day and we appreciate all the community support. These funds will help us provide programming and services to help promote early detection and treatment.
